Working in Vaudeville from 1908 until 1920 Mr. Grdina had many famous magician friends including Harry Houdini and Karl Germain. Both cards are in frames measuring 11 3/4 inches wide x 15 inches high. Both pieces came with some of Mr. Grdina's effects and the one dated 1907 has the name Freund with the other having a picture of a very young Grdina and this one with damp staining on bottom 2 inches of card. Mr. Grdina was born in Slovenia and was brought to America when he was 5 years of age. He passed away in 1974 at the age of 89 and these pieces from his own effects are a rare find. | |
