This vintage piece built of wood with its shellac finish is a stand alone highlight piece for a collection. This measures 39 1/2 inches high x 16 inches deep x 28 inches wide.

In the days when thread was the motive power for many things magical this cabinet is built specifically with tolerances to allow for running threads in several directions and especially for that of a handkerchief with a life of its own.

What you have is a base with Queen Anne style shape legs along with a platform base which sits atop and a cabinet open at top with two doors that open giving a view of the fairness within.

A hidden secret panel in the platform and one in the cabinet gives access to a secret chamber into which the unprepared handkerchief is placed. The chamber is made of material that will drop through the cavity in the platform and is hidden by the apron of the table base so that dimensional objects may also be contained within.

Another small panel within the secret sliding panel of the cabinet itself allows ample room for the gimmicked handkerchief to be concealed and a simple tug on a thread will bring the gimmicked handkerchief out of its hiding place.

This is a magnificent and rare piece of apparatus that speaks volumes of the time period in which it was built for use. This is the Granddaddy of Casadegas and in very fine condition.
