This effect so much fits the personality of Richard Himber as he was much the jokester. Having a young man step up to assist in what appears to be a rope trick the magician accidentally gets his tie caught up over the rope and it is what gets cut with scissors instead of the rope!

The magician responds by saying "You loused up my trick you deliberately put your tie in the way of my scissors to make a fool of me. Now everybody thinks I bungled the trick but I'm not going to get angry I'm going to take it good naturedly".

At this point the audience is having a good time because the magician is angry at the helper when the helper should be angry at the magician. After many more funny lines the tie is removed and placed in the box which the helper opens after awhile and the tie is fully restored!

The top part of the box is leather covered and the patter talks of it having contained a $15.00 tie. The interior gold paper has a few wrinkles and small breaks and the lid has a 1/2" area on one of the short edges where the leather is worn otherwise very fine condition and includes instructions.
