Showing a cloth bag containing five glass balls of which one is black in color, the performer explains that the participant drawing the black one-the ball of death, is bound by oath to the mafia to serve as the executioner of a certain rival mobster.

While the performer's head is turned away, each participant secretly takes a ball, peeks at the color and replaces it in the bag which is then set aside. Assuming the role of a psychic investigator or detective, the performer dramatically identifies the participant who picked the black ball!
