Items by Fred Lowe were always well routined and well made and never in great quantity. A polished lucite box holds a solid die of approximate 1" size and the die just fits within the box and cannot be turned over or twisted when inside.

A spectator places the die in the box either behind his back or under the table or in any way to conceal the numbers, it can even be done under cover of a handkerchief and the box then wrapped in the handkerchief. The spectator himself does not know the position of the die. The box is placed aside or held by the spectator and the magician does not have to look at the box.

The magician examines the spectator's free hand and says that he can see something exciting happening within (for example) a 5. Probably within 5 days or 5 weeks but this fortunate event will occur only if the spectator has matched the number on the die to his lucky number 5. He has done so of course! (It could be any of the 6 numbers on the die.)
