The boxlike tray you see was an addition to the gimmick cage and this gimmicked tray gave assistance to the performance of the effect. It's purpose was to hold the lemon, egg and a small piece of tissue paper along with three paper sacks. The canary is wrapped in tissue and placed in a sack and the egg and lemon are placed in sacks as well. One at a time they vanish as each sack is crushed and thrown the the audience! All appear back in the tray and are shown and the paper is opened but no canary? The egg is picked up and broken into the cage (not supplied) and a live canary appears. No instructions. A very scarce item in fine condition from the Lloyd Chambers Collection. | |
