This crystal chest for birds and silk made by Don Redmon of Redmon Okito fame in the early 1950's. Standing 8 1/4" high with brass ball feet with chest portion measuring 7 5/8" wide x 6 3/8" deep x 6 3/4" high having a brass hinged lid at top. The chest is built of select hardwoods finished in hard lacquers making for a sturdy and desirable piece of equipment.
The chest is fitted with a fingertip touch control release allowing for the following effects: *Chest is shown empty and immediately becomes filled with silks. *White silk is placed in chest and changes to a red one. *Yellow silk is placed in chest and changes to a canary. *Canary may be taken from chest and placed in paper bag and shot with a blank gun and Canary reappears back in chest!
No silks or blank gun supplied, Canaries are your own. This is a stamped piece and one you seldom see. Condition very fine.
