Description

This handsome chest of walnut has an open grill medallion in the top and will play a musical tune but much to the shock of onlookers it has no mechanism inside to produce the music! The routine begins with a small elegant box sitting on the table in front of the performer. When he tells a tale of joy, loss, sorrow and triumph over tragedy, the box, at the exact moment of peak emotional involvement, plays its haunting little tune (You Light Up My Life). A further climax is achieved when it is shown to be empty as there is no music mechanism inside! This is the very same poignant presentation which brought tears to the eyes of the hardened veterans at the Chicago Invocational in 1989. Polished to near perfection by Lee Earle during his two year run as The Medium in the hit séance "Manifestations... an Evening of Spirit Theatre", it is one of the most memorable pieces in his public repertoire. Chest measures 4 1/4" wide x 3 1/4" deep with a thickness of 1 3/4". Includes 3 pages of performance method, patter and ideas. Condition beautiful.

Payment is due upon auction close unless other arrangements have been made prior to bidding.
