A slate measuring 16 3/8 inch high x 11 3/4 inches wide is shown showing addition with incorrect answer. Slate is turned around and the number one emerges from the top of the slate showing amount needed to correct the total. The mechanics from this slate allow for this number one to be pivoted down allowing for vanish at same time bringing the correct total into view for revelation once slate is turned around.
