A very scarce item from Merv Taylor in the form of a wood cabinet that has been lacquered in black, red and gold having brass hardware for an impossible penetration of a sheet of glass without harm.

The chest measuring 5 1/8" x 4 3/4" x 4 1/2" is shown to have a slot in the top with grooves cut down the sides that will receive a solid piece of glass. The glass when placed in the box makes a partition dividing the box in the center which allows metal skewers to be inserted into the box from top to bottom and side to side running parallel in both cases to the glass.

The impossible is achieved when with skewers still in place others are pushed through the box from back to front! A ribbon (not included) is threaded through and there are skewers and ribbon each direction through the box leaving no apparent place for the glass to remain solid. Even with all the impalements the glass is removed and shown to be unharmed!

This is a delightful and hard to find piece of apparatus from Merv Taylor and this in very fine condition with instructions. There is a tiny nick on one edge of the glass not affecting the working of the effect, the glass is normal. This is also hallmarked with a stamp on one of the skewers that guides the ribbon.
