This effect came housed in a mahogany wood watch box and is being auctioned along with it. From Walter Gibson's book "The New Magician's Manual", the effect begins with the magician showing 10 cards each showing letters of the alphabet.
These are given to a spectator with the request to choose a letter and look through the cards one by one to find which cards have the chosen letter printed on them. Each time the spectator finds a card with the chosen letter that card must be placed upon the table with the letters down.
The remaining cards are held by the spectator. The magician looks at the cards that are on the table and keeping in mind that there is no opportunity to see the letters the magician promptly names the letter that the spectator has mentally selected!
The effect may be repeated. This set has been made with a foam core backing giving each piece the feel of a tile that is 3/16" thick. Includes 3 pages of instructions and a clever mental effect with the bonus of the watch box that measures 3 7/8" wide x 2 1/2" high x 2 7/8" deep having brass hardware.
The watch box allows for the introduction secretly of small items even though padlocked (padlock not included). All in very fine condition.
