From 1984 and using a 3” cube looking much like the puzzle famous around the world. The cube is placed in a wooden chest and the magician states that the cube has vanished. One of the front panels as seen in the circular opening is slid away and the audience may see clear through the one side of the chest. Not content that the cube has vanished the audience is quick to let the magician know that one side opening is still covered.
The magician tilts the chest toward the open side and the panel slides over to this open side revealing a side not seen before. Although the audience now see clearly through the side not seen before there is the little problem with the fact that one side is still covered obstructing the view. The audience is sure to think that the cube is sliding with the panel. Finally the panel is allowed to slide completely away and a wand (not supplied) may be slid through the ends of the chest showing the cube has vanished!
The wood block is designed with overlays of color plastic film with adhesive backing and because of age this is coming away in areas. It would not be a great problem to redo after making a trip to a craft store. Includes instructions for use. Also included is an extra solid block if desiring to reproduce the vanished block elsewhere. The chest measures 8” wide x 5 3/4” high x 4” deep setting upon brass ball feet. Condition very fine and scarce.
