  55. Johnson Products Cups and Balls, The main thrust of KT Magic has always been to deal in Collectables and Pre-Owned Conjuring Apparatus, Books, etc. The following is an exception to the rule. Cups and Balls have been a mainstay of magicians from the beginning. Johnson Products, whose special machined and precision coin effects we all so dearly love have come up with the premium Cups and Balls set for the Professional or Novice. Each cup is precision machined in solid brass and weighs in at 6 ounces by my scale. A single cup is 2 7/8" high with a mouth bead diameter of 2 15/16" and a shoulder height (this is the bead that another cup rests upon) of 1 9/16". There are four balls supplied with each set that are a red crochet which are a hair larger than 7/8" diameter. Also supplied is a black velvet drawstring bag to carry these jewels, which by the way, Johnson Products thought enough of their cups to stamp a hallmark design on the inside bottom of each cup. I recommend that if you ever wanted to perform this age old classic of magic that you should treat yourself and get a set of these cups right away.

  68. Homesick Half, Clarence Miller, it always comes home. Name by Dan Terelmes. A slide is removed from its housing and a half dollar is shown within a recess. This coin may be removed and the slide returned to the housing (which may be casually shown empty), and the coin may be vanished and it reappears within the slide. Another idea Clarence had was to remove the coin from the slide then replacing the slide in the housing and this held in the closed hand palm down. The coin is laid on the back of the hand holding the slide housing, the other hand is placed palm over the visible half and removed showing the coin has vanished! Turning the closed hand over, it is opened and the slide is removed and the coin has found its way within. Basically, the housing is mechanically situated so a gentle squeeze on the slide makes the magic happen. $32

A silk or other small object (not supplied) is shown and made to vanish. Instructing a volunteer from the audience to open the door to see if the vanished article has made an appearance, the door is opened and the entire outhouse falls to pieces on the floor leaving the roof suspended by the handle left in the spectators hand with the vanished article hanging below. $85

The spectator may place the cube in the box with any color uppermost and close the box, handing it to the magician. Within moments the magician is able to reveal the selected color which is hidden from view. Beyond the regular color vision routine, other things are possible due to the construction of this box. The magician may have several different colors of small silks (not supplied) and have one chosen and placed within the box while his back is turned and with all the remaining colors hidden from view. The magician continues by saying he not only placed an X on the back but he also removed the card from a red back deck. The card is turned over to show a large X and that the card is indeed one from a red backed bicycle poker deck! After the dice are seen to move about and the attempt to stack is unsuccessful, the performer says that perhaps the black one must be on top. Again an attempt is made with unsuccessful results. Now he states perhaps the black one should stack in between the white dice and again the desired outcome has failed. Remembering the new miracle medicine for men, he takes from his pocket a pinch of dust from this medicine (imagined) and sprinkles over the dice.
